Little Horsing Around Video

While I do not own a Canon 7D, I sort of wish that I did. This little video is a first try of putting together some shots with the Canon 7D we got at work. Not perfect by any means, but I'm looking forward to what we can do with this gear.

Oh, and if you live in north county San Diego and want to ride horses, Barking Elf Ranch is a good option.

People So Fascinating

I have to confess that Ridley Scott and Kevin MacDonald's Life in a Day has me fascinated. Average people living average lives are so interesting. It's one of the reasons I'm not into American-style consumerism, which attempts to stuff us so full of stuff that we have nothing left of ourselves to share with others. Boring!

It's Not My Stuff But I Sure Did Like It

Just a quick confession. Sometimes even I get giddy about stuff.

At my day job I am the manager of online marketing at a university. The university has gone through a rebranding effort over the last year and we'll be launching a new website in the coming months. To complement these efforts we are going to start producing more video.

The marketing office got some new equipment today. A Canon 7D and Canon 60mm 2.8 macro lens. Also we got a Zoom H4n field recorder. I felt like a kid in a candy store. That is some sweet equipment and I cannot wait for our team to produce inspiring videos.

The thought, however, did cross my mind, "Should the 100 Thing Challenge guy be so excited about stuff?" Only briefly.

Challenge Stuff Photo Contest

Really stoked. I finally committed to the photo contest I've been saying I might put on for months. Well, it's official. It starts now, and ends on Black Friday, November 27th. There are cash prizes. And the contest is co-sponsored by the Center for Justice and Reconciliation at PLNU, which is donating an extra $100 to Plant with Purpose's Trees Fund in the name of the winner.
