This past week the 100 Thing Challenge got more personal for me. That might seem odd, since the 100 Thing Challenge is my personal thing (though it is really cool to see so many other people taking some form of the challenge).
It hit home for me, though, when I sold my compounding miter saw and a small portable workbench. Two woodworking items. They were the first to go. The first of the stuff that I originally planned to just ignore and pretend I did not own. But a month ago I decided the 100 Thing Challenge had to be more radical than I first planned. That means that woodworking and hobbies and all the exceptions - all of them - need to go.
(Yes, books are the one exception I am still excepting. One library. I will not be able to justify that to some people. Oh well.)
Anyway, I'll be adding more woodworking items to SwapFaire.com and to Craigslist and perhaps even eBay. The downsizing has truly begun in earnest. No more Mr. Nice Guy. I'm sucking up this (possibly dumb) decision to live with only 100 person possessions for a year, and I am getting rid of the things that actually matter to me.
